My underlying question is this: does a certain medicineh you? If yes, then use it. Does it help, more than the side effects hurt?
I believe in using all forms of medicine. I'm not opposed to western (traditional) medicine. It has helped me and my family greatly. Life-saving, actually. In my life experience, I use both. I just think there's often more than simple a pill to cure all weaknesses and woes. My brother is type-1 diabetic, and I don’t tell him to chew on lettuce, just take supplements to regulate his blood sugar, and forget his insulin. To me, we have many things to help us at our finger tips: western medicine, functional medicine, nutritional medicine, eastern medicine, ayurvedic medicine etc. There are many things in the arsenal that we have at our finger tips.
I view other health challenges the same way. I don't discount the need for medication at times for certain things. However, I also know from personal experience with my autoimmune condition, that food and alternative supplements, can be very powerful and can often alleviate more annoying symptoms than one might realize possible. 😉 Because, unfortunately, there isn't a cure-all pill for my disease. Rats! But alas, such a pill for CIRS, doesn't exist. It requires life-style changes for me to function.
Could idea x, y, z help you at all?
